I think it is just so lovely

I saw they are also airing a documentary of the name Operation Homecoming during PBS's upcoming America at a Crossroads series? I'm assuming these are connected? I'll definitely be tuning in - I've seen a couple of good reviews of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9587882.post-86379905949787000262007-03-07T13:18:00.000-08:002007-03-07T13:18:00.000-08:00SSM, I too am a strong believer in faith. I was and still am grieving my nephew's death in Kuwait.

My heart went out to you and all those who "got that call" that this time would be different. A mom, father, husband, wife, or some other loved one would not feel that crushing feeling of loss of their loved a one.

I found this post very moving and insightful. It was more than a very well written book critique. It was a message of continued faith and hope. Thank you and God bless you, your family, and especially, Noah.

Tell Noah it is alright to be angry at God. He knows what is in our hearts. I dedicated a blog to Mike called, "Letters to Michael." Anyone who reads it can see my anger, sense of loss, and despair. It helped me tremendously.

I even have some poems there I wrote. Noah might like to read some of them sometimes. If he ever wants to share his sense of loss and grief anonymously or other wise, tell him to feel free to do so. I would be honored and Michael was always a loving giving person. I am sure he would not mind sharing!

The 5th was the anniversary of his death. Your post today has given me the courage to write the post I have been unable to write for Mike. Thank you!devildog6771https://www.blogger.com/profile/09550696943739907561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9587882.post-86060898355657572672007-03-06T09:33:00.000-08:002007-03-06T09:33:00.000-08:00English Professor, I didn't write anything specifi...English Professor, I didn't write anything specifically for the anthology, but a portion of the letter I wrote to my son the night before he deployed to Iraq was selected for inclusion in Operation Homecoming and it leads the "Home Front" section. Some Soldier's Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16934456863737157251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9587882.post-73126885072283407872007-03-06T09:20:00.000-08:002007-03-06T09:20:00.000-08:00"I was privileged to speak with Andy once or twice..."I was privileged to speak with Andy once or twice while he was editing the superb Operation Homecoming: Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Home Front."

I'm curious--did you write anything for the anthology?English Professorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15191669597257396380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9587882.post-26268581730411488962007-03-05T20:19:00.000-08:002007-03-05T20:19:00.000-08:00Thanks for the heads up on the book!I remember the...Thanks for the heads up on the book!
I remember the day my daughter told me her MOS was up and we needed to go to MEPS asap for her to sign - 3 days before Christmas and just a couple of days after all the Marines were killed in the mess tent in 2004. I went into the bathroom and just fell to my knees and started praying between sobs.
Haven't stopped yet ~ praying that is. Only difference is my list of 'praying for...' has grown.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9587882.post-91804309773844759462007-03-03T21:52:00.000-08:002007-03-03T21:52:00.000-08:00Thank you for this! I look forward to this next book from Andrew Carroll. I am a person of faith also, and I know I will love this book. Thank you for letting us know about it!

Oh, and I agree wholeheartedly that it is freedom OF religion we are promised, not FROM.blankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16892418282094535916noreply@blogger.com
