Saturday Update

Mrs. Greyhawk visited with Noah yesterday and she called me a few minutes ago to let me know she had spoken with Noah today (how awesome is that woman, huh??) He had just gotten his test results back and told Mrs. G that the MRI showed no spinal fractures (whoohoo!) although he does have some spinal swelling... and no brain swelling (whoohoo!). They have prescribed some new meds and changed some meds and they are weaning him from the cervical collar (which apparently pleases him.) He has more tests and appointments Monday. He is spending time at the bedside of his friend who was seriously wounded in the same attack. Stay tuned...
Thanks to Stacy for "sucking it up" and taking that ride on her soldier son Michael's motorcycle before he returned to Iraq from R&R and dedicating the ride to Noah... stop by and send regards -- she's re-adjusting to having Michael back in the Sandbox... and a big HOOAH to Dan -- Military Mom's son -- Dan and his guys are taking the battle to the enemy and giving them hell for Noah!!!

It looks as if your Noah is pretty much out of the woods. If you get the chance thank him for me. You see, my grandchildren slept safe in their beds last night. Noah and his comrades had a lot to do with that.

Me? I'll just keep on praying and, every month, donating what I can to the groups like Soldier's Angels. It's all that this broke down old fart can do.

I read that Mrs. Greyhawk visited Noah. She posted that over at Mudville. I am so glad to hear Noah is on the mend. I am still praying for them all. I am hoping his buddy improves.
Our boys are something ain't they. We worry and worry about them. We count the days until their duty is done and they act like it is a day at the office.
God Bless our troops.

I'm an SA and I emailed Willie for an update; she was going to see him today. Just know that so many of us are thinking of your son.

Just further proof that prayer on this scale must get Someone's attention...."Thank you, Jesus, please keep the angels near all our soldiers".

I came to your blog via the Soldiers Angels message board...I've just read your account of the phone call from Hell and it took me back to 6AM October 19, 2004, when the Washington Casualty Office called to inform me that my son, Nate, had been seriously wounded by a roadside IED...I think my bags were packed & ready to go out the door at about 6:10 that morning, but, thankfully, my trip was delayed by 4 days and to Washington (Walter Reed) rather than Germany. My prayers are with your Noah for continued recovery and with your family...May this be the most difficult thing we ever have to deal with for the rest of our lives! When you finally get to hold your son in your arms thank him for his service from an Army mom. God bless your family.

Hey SSM, that's just terrific! Will continue with the prayers for Noah and for his comrades - for all of you. I love and admire all those guys so much - I'm so grateful to you all. If I were only 45 years younger...
