My Son Has Been Injured

in a VBIED attack... a serious spinal injury... being operated on in Iraq. Please pray for my son.

He is SPC. Noah P.

UPDATE: 4:30AM (AZ time):
I just spoke with my son from Iraq!! He is waiting evac from Iraq to Germany for further evaluation of his spine... All the prayers worked BIG TIME as they determined that they did not have to operate in Iraq and will await further tests in Germany... He is in significant pain on any movement of the upper spine (C1,C2,C3) and pretty bad pain in the lower back ("that morphine stuff is good sh*t, Ma!")... and his brain's been rattled a bit (took him 10 minutes to remember his birth date) and he says he has lots of shrapnel lacerations on his head... mostly small deep wounds not requiring stitches... though he has some stitches... he still has some tingling in his hands and feet... ringing in the ears... but he tells me not to worry, he says he's still "pretty" and he even got some girls' phone numbers while at the CSH... He says he will be in Germany for a while but the damn soldier says he wants to get back to his unit asap!!
The outpouring of love and prayers has been overwhelming... and I can't thank you enough for your support. I do plan to go to Germany if they aren't sending him stateside... I haven't had any additional contact from the Army yet...
Thank you all for your caring and your compassion, but mostly thank you for your prayers... they DO work!
I'll put up some of the details of the attack that injured my son at a later date.

Oh dear God...my prayers are with you and Noah, SSM...

Please, if there's anything we can do for you or him with a blogging effort, or writing letters, sending stuff to him for the hospital, let me know.

And if it gives you ANY peace, I should tell you that I've had six spinal (cord!) operations, all by military doctors, and I'm fine. They don't let quacks touch the major stuff, they're the ones who blanket-issue Motrin for sprains. Think positively, have faith.

I'm so sorry this has happened to your son. I've been reading your blog for many months now, trying to stay informed of the happenings, because you see, my youngest son is also 'over there' serving. He's been there since Februrary 2005.
I had to read your headline twice, before I realized the meaning of the words. It was as if someone had thrown a bucket of cold water in my face.
I will pray for your son, Noah, as I always pray for my own son.

Sorry, my email to you last night bounced. (I used the address on your profile.) Here's what I tried to send:

Almighty God,
For as much as you have given us a mother's heart, we know that our hearts are ultimately in your hands. The sons you gave us are a gift which we have gladly put back into your hands, as well. Right now, I join my Sister in prayer for the fruit of her womb, Noah. We ask you to honor your Word and our faith that by Jesus's stripes Noah is healed. We declare the power and benefit of our Blood Covenant promising that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. We invoke your Peace upon all who are concerned with Noah's safety and recovery, and ask that you infuse them with your gentle comfort and blessing , which they will impart to him.

For my Sister, O God, I ask that you allow us to share her burden, and join her vigil. Strengthen her for the tasks ahead. Speak to her by your Spirit in words that cannot be uttered. Give her the Wisdom you promise to those who ask. Stabilize her thoughts. Embolden her prayers, and allow her to know in her heart of hearts that You will not leave her, neither will You forsake her or Noah.

We declare strength and healing to Noah right now. We speak to your Spirit, Noah, and command it to receive healing from the Word of God. We energize you with the Word of Faith, the prayers of the Saints and the Honor of God.

We pray all these things with the Mind of Christ, through the Name of Jesus.

Amen.

From black five...

Glad to hear that he's talking and getting tingles, it means it's all good though delicate for a bit.

You can count on the prayers, right now, right here:

“ I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. ”- Psalm 116:1-2

Psalm 103
1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

May God grant you comfort and lay his healing hands on your son.

My prayers are with you. My job here at the National Training Center is to train soldiers on how to spot and avoid IEDs. It is my life goal to make sure that not ONE soldier leaves here without a proper understanding of the lethality of IEDs. I hope that no other mothers have to suffer because their son or daughter gets hit. Your post only provides me more motivation and reason to be tougher in my training and never let up.

Our prayers go out to you. By the way, an example of one of my training IEDs targetting a training unit will be shown on ABC World News Tonight next week. I don't have a date yet, but I'll be posting it on my site once I get one.

I'm glad to hear your son is doing better at the combat support Hospital in Iraq and the the they're waiting to move him. Mother nature or God takes over in these cases and it is a lot better than anything the doctors can do... I got that from a doctor.

If you get to Walter Reed by the 31st, please give me a call at(202)577-0088, and I will look you up wherever you are on post. I'll come up to his room on bring Carren mom, and we will pass on all the knowledge and information that we have learned in our two months here.

I know you're soldiers mum but if you're not a soldiers wife then you probably aren't as familiar with the army and its (sometimes strange)ways. Mom and Carren can be a great source of advice, and if you want it, I can probably give you insight into what your son is thinking--like why in the hell he went back to his unit so fast.
