Start Praying, Please
When Noah was wounded in Iraq, one of the first people to call me was my wonderful friend, Stacy from "Keep My Soldier Safe" (now G.R.I.T.S.). Her son Michael was deployed about the same time...
Well Michael has been in a motorcycle wreck... she just called me on her way to the hospital so she doesn't know anything yet... and then she had to hang up because a cop was pulling her over for speeding! (I told her to make him give her an escort!!) She said she'd call me tomorrow and I told her she had to call me tonight or I wouldn't sleep!!
So please start praying that Michael is alright.
You think when you have them home from the battlefield your worries will be over... sometimes they bring some of the battle home with them...
UPDATE: 11:00PM Sunday
Stacy called... Michael has a fractured pelvis, both arms are broken, one is very bad... they are deciding what surgeries need to take place... he's sedated and intubated to assist his breathing. The initial head CT was negative for bleeding (he did have his helmet on). I'll update as I can. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!!
UPDATE: 11:00AM MONDAY
Michael was awake during the night and they removed the breathing tube, but they had to re-insert the tube this morning. He has not been conscious long enough to assess his neck and spine, but they are hoping that adjusting his pain medications will help rouse him. Stacy and her family are at Michael's bedside. Michael is listed in stable condition.
Please keep Stacy and Michael and the family in your thoughts and prayers.
UPDATE: 6:00PM MONDAY
Spoke with Stacy a few hours ago... Michael was in surgery... he had awakened early in the afternoon. He's not happy about being there and wants to go home (that will be a while). They put a screw in the broken pelvis and a plate and screws in one arm. Got pain for sure. Stacy says he is holding his own and doing well (under the circumstances). It is going to be a long road to recovery. She asks that everyone keep praying.
Stacy we love you, Lady. Thinking and prayin' for you all.

OMG....
praying,
Absolutely!
They certainly have my prayers.
Please tell Stacy I am praying for them all, and to give Michael my love.
If she needs me to call my Moms. I will get the message and call her.
Please keep me informed, asfbfhl@yahoo.com
Prayers going out ~ please send {{{hugs}}} from me.
Thanks SSM. Words can not express my gratitude. You are the very best. Thanks for spreading your love and for all that you have done for us.
We had a terrible night, it was after 0200 this morning before we finally got him calm. I got maybe an hour of sleep, and Marcus came to relieve me about 0600 and I went home for a quick shower and to see the construction progress.
Hopefully today will be a little better for him. That is all I can hope for.
HE JUST WANTS TO GO HOME AND PROMISSES TO BE GOOD AND SIT ON THE COUCH HE SAYS...LOL...
Little does he know he has always been good for me, I just don't want him getting the big head.
He had a visitor from our Governor's office late yesterday afternooon. I told Michael that he sure has all these folks wraped around his little finger.
The army has been so wonderful. He apparently works with the best of folks. He had a room full of army folks this morning bright and early. I never knew he had so many mom's.
Thanks again SSM for everything. I will keep you posted.
Prayers on the way from me as well...
Stacy, I will pray for ya'll every night. You are all in my thoughts honey!!!!!
Stacy, I'd love to call you but I don't want to bother you. I know you are probably wore out from all this. I want you to know that you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you lady. Hang in there.
Praying, praying praying!
you know, I was at a funeral for a soldier KIA last week, with the Patriot Guard Riders (the biker dudes) -- a general was talking to some of the guys about motorcycle safety for guys coming home - he said that there has been a HUGE increase in m/c accidents with all these guys coming home from war, buying bikes, etc...
Anyway, I will keep praying, please keep us posted!!!
Prayers inbound. Glad the pup had on his helmet!! *hugs*
Here by way of Sgt Hook...prayers incoming.
